Immerse yourself in the storied past of Fort McKinley, dating back to the 1890s. Once an integral part of the nation's coastal defense system, it safeguarded Portland's Harbor and Casco Bay. The Fort's former Barracks have been thoughtfully transformed into a unique hotel and dining destination, devoted to providing an extraordinary hospitality experience.
The inn features a variety of guest rooms which can be booked individually or together to accommodate larger groups. From basic suites, to multilevel lofts, each room is inspired by its coastal surroundings with some featuring semi-private decks and full kitchens. For those guests who do not wish to completely disconnect, complimentary WiFi is provided for all guests. For the adventurous type, guests can explore the island with complimentary bicycle rentals while kayak and paddleboard rentals are available for an additional fee.
Our culinary team is proud to present dining options that rival what you'd find on the mainland. Allow the staff of Diamond's Edge Restaurant to serve you lunch and dinner daily offering local seafood and fine American cuisine both indoors and waterside, while breakfast is offered daily at the inn. Of course, no afternoon is complete without a visit to the poolside cabana bar featuring a menu of quick serve delights, cocktails, beer and wine.
